FAQ

FAQ

What is the coverage area of the smoke and heat detectors in this set?

The smoke detectors are designed to cover an area of approximately 40 square meters each, while the heat detector is effective in spaces such as kitchens and garages where smoke might not be a reliable indicator of fire. For optimal safety, it's recommended to install the detectors in every room where there is a risk of fire and to ensure that the heat detector is installed away from cooking appliances to avoid false alarms.

How do the interconnected features work?

When one detector in the system detects smoke, heat, or carbon monoxide, it will send a signal to all other interconnected units, triggering them to alert you simultaneously. This feature provides an early warning throughout your home, ensuring that everyone is alerted in case of an emergency, no matter where they are.

Is these detectors compliant with UK safety regulations?

Yes, this interconnected smoke detector complies with the relevant UK safety standards, including UKCA. It is also certified and carries the CE mark, which confirms that it meets the UK and EU safety, health, and environmental requirements.

How often do the detectors need to be tested and maintained?

We recommend testing your detectors monthly by pressing the test button to ensure they are functioning properly. Additionally, you should replace the batteries at least once a year, and the entire unit should be replaced every 10 years to guarantee optimal performance. Regularly cleaning the alarms with a soft brush or vacuum can also help prevent false alarms.

Can I install these detectors myself, or do I need a professional?

You can install these detectors yourself, as they come with clear installation instructions and all necessary mounting hardware. However, if you are unsure about the installation process or if your home has complex layouts, you may consider hiring a professional to ensure optimal placement and functionality.

Reliable, quick detection, and well made smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide alarm set.

I'm very impressed with this set. All devices are pre-linked so you just need to press the button and let them sync. Batteries are included for all devices and also double-sided stickers and screws are provided. Excellent connection in a 2 story house and the detection sensor is very good and accurate. Tested it with a lighter and a piece of paper and it detected the heat and smoke within seconds. If one device detects smoke or heat all of them will go off which is good. The sound is loud and you can definitely hear it even if you're in the garden or the top floor of your house. Good price for the set and looks like it will last. I would recommend it.

Excellent choice

Very pleased with these. Easy to setup with more units - press test button four times on the existing network. Then press test twice on the additional unit(s).

Pressing and holding test button on one unit causes all to alarm. So no need to test each one individually.

Good addition to your home, the inclusion of a 'heat' detector is welcome...

Smashing little setup, combing the 2 most popular detectors for smoke, CO, and heat... a type of detector that I would think most people won't already have fitted.

The 3 individual units are ready to go, pre-fitted with batteries and all linked together for immediate use.

Quality wise they look OK, and the CO base looks very similar to one I've already got, but without the 'linking' facility. The batteries aren't replaceable, so when they finally give up the ghost the units will have to be replaced. This 'end-of-serviceable life' is common on CO alarms anyway, regardless of whether the batteries can be changed or not. 10 years life span is quoted in the spec, so that's not bad at all.

I do like the idea that when the alarm on one goes off, the others do too. This gives the placement of the units a bit more scope, where a detector located in a particular location may not be heard (if asleep upstairs for instance). The fact that the setup can also be extended is also welcome, but any extra modules will have to be added/registered manually.

I think for a 3-in-1 setup it's a decent enough buy, especially if you have nothing fitted at all at the moment. I'll be keeping my existing alarms where they are, and choosing carefully where to add these new ones to maximise coverage.

On a quality/value-for-money basis... 4-Stars. (5 if the price drops a little).

Keep Your Home Safe

I recently installed this Wireless Interlinked Smoke, Heat, and Carbon Monoxide Alarm Kit in my home, and it has brought me immense peace of mind knowing that my family and I are protected from potential hazards.

Safety is paramount when it comes to protecting your home and loved ones. This alarm kit includes smoke, heat, and carbon monoxide detectors, ensuring comprehensive coverage against various threats. Knowing that these alarms are pre linked and compliant with Scotland and England laws adds an extra layer of assurance that they meet stringent safety standards.

One feature that I particularly appreciate is the remote silence function. In the event of a false alarm or when conducting routine maintenance, being able to silence the alarms remotely saves time and hassle. It's a convenient feature that adds to the user experience and makes managing the alarms effortless.
By connecting all the alarms wirelessly, they communicate with each other, providing early detection and alerting everyone in the home simultaneously. This interconnected system ensures that everyone is aware of the situation, even if they are in different areas of the house.

Installation was a breeze, thanks to the pre-linked design. I didn't need to worry about complicated wiring or configurations. Plus, the sleek and compact design of the alarms blends seamlessly into my home decor without drawing attention.

This Kit offer comprehensive protection, convenience, and ease of installation. it's a must have for any homeowner looking to prioritise safety and security in their home.

Comprehensive but slightly disappointing set up (however I needn't have worried!)

For what you get in the box, this product is extremely good value for money.

Supplied is one heat sensor, one smoke sensor and one carbon monoxide sensor together with three separate instruction manuals, fittings (both screw and self adhesive) and handy paper templates should you wish to use the screws and rawlplugs.

Each unit is pleasant enough, small, simple, what you would expect. What I didn't expect was that while the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors have simple pull tabs to activate the built in battery, the heat detector must be fitted to its back plate. At first I wondered why the heat detector wouldn't power on.

The reason I was slightly disappointed (initially) with the product was that they are sold as a pre-interlinked set. If one goes off, they all go off. This is absolutely what I wanted, however when I pressed the test button on one unit, the other two alarms didn't sound (one did beep).

I then started to wonder if there was a problem with the factory set up so started to read the instructions as to how to link them, but soon lost interest. Prior to writing a highly negative review I decided to actually try them with a smoking candle.

Lo and behold, the smoke detector picked up the candle smoke and alarmed, the other two units then activated as well. Marvellous.

It has to be said, I have heard louder (more piercing) alarms, but I am sure that in the middle of the night the sound will carry.

So, I should have trusted the manufacturer from the get go. And, lets be honest, when it comes to equipment like this when it needs to work it NEEDS to work and I have to trust the manufacturer has supplied what they said they would.

In this instance I am glad to say that they did as they said they would.

Can I help you or would you like expert advice?
